About the event

This workshop explores the invisible emotional labor disproportionately carried by Black women across personal, professional, and social spaces. Often perceived as "strong" and "resilient," Black women are culturally and systemically conditioned to suppress vulnerability, overperform, and endure chronic stress. This presentation will examine the psychological toll of perfectionism, code-switching, racial battle fatigue, and unacknowledged caregiving roles, and how these experiences contribute to burnout, anxiety, and identity fragmentation. Participants will gain clinical insight into how emotional labor manifests in Black female clients and walk away with culturally competent strategies to support their healing and self-liberation.
